"GANRA" is a concept focusing on the idea that you for yourself decide who you are and demonstrate it.
It also conveys the message that at any circumstances, creator and the created work will merge to one being. It aims and stands for total independence. "GANRA" believes that even if works that voice the current society or help to improve it will face forced censorship and pressure, they are needed and have to break free from this situation. Therefore it addresses persons, acts and behaviors that give birth to new methods and ways of possible existence.

MOLS第2号は”完全な自律性”をあらわす「GANRA(ガンラ)」をテーマに6組のアーティストにインタビュー。現代社会を表現したものや社会改善が制作動機にあるイメージと向き合うことで、自律性とはなにか、そして個の存在認識とはなにかを読者とともに考えます。「GANRA」とは、自分が何者であるのかを自らが決定し、実証すること。またどのような状況においても作者と作品が一体となり、完全な自律性を目指すことを表す意味であり、たとえば、社会を批判的に表現したもの、または社会改善が制作動機にあるイメージに対して強権的な検閲や制圧があったとしても、その状況から打破し、新しい手段を持って存在の可能性を生み出す行動や行為またはその人物のことを指します。
